Nancy designed a single storey extension, roof extension and internal remodelling. The planning application was successful which was quite a challenge as the area we live in is a conservation area. We engaged NTC Designs to draw up plans for an extension to our 1920s semi, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Their designs have turned what was a small, cramped space into a light and airy (but still sympathetic) open plan living area. She patiently revised and modified drawings and schemes, offering sound and considered advice based on a wealth of experience. She patiently adapted our thoughts to produce a final scheme which miraculously incorporated all we had hoped for. She steered us through the planning process and the compilation of the detailed fixtures and fittings schedule necessary to expedite the project. She was always available and the speed of her responses was a constant source of wonder and reassurance. With consummate efficiency and endless patience, Nancy guided us through the tender process helping us choose a builder who matched her professionalism and enthusiasm. During construction, Nancy convened regular site meetings: not only to hold the builder to account but to make sure we were up to date, fully informed and calm. Subsequently Nancy and Tony designed our loft conversion and also a ground floor reconfiguration of our small 3 bed bungalow in Hitchin. The initial drawings were sent over very quickly with several options given to us showing what we could do and how we could maximise space. The various options along with explanations of what was possible was expanded on, but equally , what was not a good idea or would not work was fed back quickly and constructively which helped save time and also put things in perspective for us. Nancy was always on hand to answer questions and offer advice in a timely manner. I also found her friendly, professional and receptive throughout, despite the fact we changed our minds and had new drawings made up several times prior to submitting the planning documentation. Upon completion, we managed to get 3 big bedrooms, a family bathroom and an en-suite upstairs. Downstairs is better due to making a large open plan kitchen diner – put simply the space we now have both upstairs and downstairs is incredible. We were given exactly what we asked for, and upon reflection we probably achieved a great deal more. I found Nancy and Tony easy to deal with, professional and very patient.
